Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Manages the Career Center's internal and external marketing/communications efforts and provides communications perspective on initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Develops and implements a marketing and communication strategy to support student recruitment, broaden awareness of the office's programs, brand, and further the mission of the Pathways Center and the College of Arts and Sciences.
  • Designs, oversees, and updates the official website and other digital platforms.
  • Develops, writes, reviews, and disseminates all marketing and promotional content in various channels and mediums, including social media.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of communication strategies across platforms and audiences.
  • May conduct evaluations, surveys, and focus groups to assist in quality improvement efforts. Oversees relationships with vendors and Emory service providers.
  • Monitors project budgets. May supervise staff, including full-time and student staff. Collaborates with key stakeholders across Emory and the division to achieve goals.
  • Stays abreast of pertinent laws and implements the use of the latest trends in marketing, video, social media, and digital strategies. Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in an applicable field, and three years of related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A master's degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, higher education, or related field is preferred.
  • Must be proficient in AP Style Guide.
  • Strong writing and editing skills; must be proficient in many writing styles, including promotional writing.
  • Must have an understanding of 24-hour news cycle and media markets. Competency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, web-based content management systems, Adobe CS Suite.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed and at times, on short notice.  Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
