KIPP Delta Public Schools operates tuition-free, open-enrollment college-preparatory charter schools in the Arkansas Delta, serving over 1,200 students in Helena and Blytheville. Through a rigorous PreK-12 program and an asset-based approach, KIPP empowers students to discover their purpose and expand regional opportunities.

Job Description
The Community Director of Operations (CDO) ensures efficient and effective site-level operations, including sound fiscal management, compliance with state and federal regulations, and the safety, security, and well-being of students, staff, and families. The CDO will oversee campus support services, including transportation, information technology (IT), office administration, student record-keeping, custodial services, and facility maintenance. This role ensures that School Directors and instructional staff can focus entirely on teaching and student learning.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
  • Manage campus operations staff to ensure clean, organized, and compliant properties.
  • Coordinate with other CDOs on regional priorities, support systems, and service level agreements.
  • Liaise with community organizations (e.g., counseling services, police departments, community colleges) to foster collaboration that supports students.
  • Oversee campus technical support, troubleshooting fundamental technology problems, and collaborating with external technology teams on enhancements and purchases.
  • Ensure staff have necessary technology access, manage the school website's accuracy, and guide tech use.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Transportation to ensure the effective operation of student transportation, including compliance with safety standards.
  • Manage safety and security systems, including emergency response protocols, evacuation procedures, and safety drills.

Facilities & Maintenance
  • Manage custodial and maintenance teams, ensuring clean, safe, well-equipped facilities compliant with health, safety, and operational regulations.
  • Ensure school materials, furniture, and equipment are properly stored, maintained, and accessible.

Financial Oversight
  • Partner with School Principals on budget planning, tracking, forecasting, and resource allocation aligned with academic priorities.
  • Review budgets and proactively manage purchases and supply inventory to ensure resources are always available.
  • Establish efficient systems for staff purchase requests to ensure timely fulfillment and compliance with financial policies.

Human Resources
  • Manage hiring, professional development, performance evaluation, and accountability for non-instructional staff.
  • Collaborate with HR and School Principals to ensure staff certification and compliance with employment regulations.

Events, Communications, Recruitment & Enrollment
  • Oversee planning and logistics for school events, including Report Card Nights, Graduation, field trips, and campus visits.
  • Coordinate family communications and visitor hosting to ensure positive and professional school representation.
  • Support student recruitment activities to meet annual enrollment targets, manage lottery processes, acceptance forms, waitlists, and orientation sessions.

Professional & Team Development
  • Identify and implement professional development opportunities for operational staff.
  • Actively participate in the Regional Operations Team and School Leadership Team meetings, contributing proactively to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as the trusted non-instructional leader, aligning operational responses and solutions consistently with school leadership.

Qualifications
Education:  Bachelor's degree in business administration, Public Administration, Education, or a related field preferred
Licenses: Valid driver’s license required.

Experience:  Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Must pass state and federal background checks, including fingerprinting and child maltreatment registry checks.
  • Ongoing participation in professional development activities as required by ADE.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics evaluation.
  • Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements related to school operations.

Additional Information
This position operates in a professional office environment and requires regular travel to school campuses and community sites. The role may require working evenings and weekends to attend community events or respond to operational emergencies.
Community Director salaries will be based on individual experience and within the SY 2025-26 Salary Schedule.
