ORGANIZATION SUMMARY STATEMENT
Position Overview and Key Responsibilities
Manage as Compliance and Procurement Coordinator for the Maryland Business Opportunity Center (MBOC), the University's central hub for supporting efforts across the state to start, grow, and sustain businesses.
Ensuring adherence to program internal and external policies and procedures to upholding the integrity of MBOC Program operational guidelines. Independently reviewing program financials and procurement activities to verify accuracy and ensure full compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and subcontract administration requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance oversight - Ensuring adherence to internal and external policies and procedures
- Financials - Budget review. financial reporting, invoice reconciliation
- Process expense reports and reconcile invoices on a timely basis.
- Conduct regular audit reports of payments and settlements to ensure vendors comply with internal policies and procedure terms.
- Manage administration coordination - including reconciling accounts, processing journal entries, processing invoices, managing the programs procurement processes (travel setup, data entry, purchase department supplies and equipment, manage equipment inventory and vendor management) in Workday system.
- Work in partnership and communicate with the program director and compliance team on financials, internal control, workflow, and process
- Delegate and aid staff members with required concur training set up to access the submission travel process for staff members to process travel expenses directly in the university concur system.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position will require minimal travel to attend outreach events, training, and local and statewide conferences. Currently working assignment is remote but does require coming into Lead Center office at times. Active valid driver's license required. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Preferences:
2-4 years of professional administrative or coordinator experience in compliance, procurement, or contract administration.
Familiarity with Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Small Business Administration (SBA) programs.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills with the ability to effectively plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and interact courteously and efficiently with internal and external parties.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Proficient in the use of Workday, Microsoft Office Products. Experience with Google Sheets, SharePoint, etc.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: One (1) year of professional budget, finance, or accounting experience. Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education. Knowledge of finance functions. Skill in oral and written communication.Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products. Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.Ability to analyze situations and determine the best solutions.
