Job Description
Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the Content Marketing Manager will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive content strategy that positions Galileo as a trusted resource for parents and families. In this role, you will craft and distribute compelling content across blogs, social media, and email to drive audience engagement and list growth, helping families connect with Galileo’s mission and programs.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, data-driven marketer passionate about storytelling, community engagement, and using content to drive meaningful impact. Inspired by best practices from leading brands like Duolingo, Canva, and Shopify, you will bring Galileo’s voice to life and expand our reach to new and existing audiences.

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
Content Strategy & Creation
  • Develop and own Galileo’s multi-channel content strategy aligned to mission and business goals.
  • Write, edit, and publish high-quality, shareable content for blogs, social media, and email newsletters.
  • Maintain a consistent, trusted, and mission-aligned brand voice across all channels.
Distribution & Audience Growth
  • Manage and optimize the content calendar to engage audiences and grow Galileo’s email list.
  • Execute best-in-class email growth tactics, including sign-up incentives, landing pages, and integrated campaigns.
  • Leverage analytics to measure performance, A/B test formats, and continuously refine the content strategy.
Collaboration & Leadership
  • Partner with design, product, and community teams to align messaging and creative assets.
  • Manage a creative team of two copywriters and one graphic designer to execute on content initiatives.
  • Stay current on trends in education, parenting, youth development, and digital marketing.

COMPENSATION
We anticipate total compensation for this Full-Time, exempt position to be in the range of $85,000 - $135,000 annually. This estimate is based on the preferred location in California. Exact compensation may vary and will be based on multiple factors, including geography and professional experience. 
Our pay practices are guided by a commitment to equity and informed by market benchmarking and internal audits to minimize bias and ensure fairness across all roles.

WORK LOCATION
Primarily remote, work-from-home, with some travel and/or attendance at in-person meetings will be required up to quarterly. Preferred location is in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, or the Greater Chicago Area, Illinois. 
Employees located in the San Francisco Bay Area adhere to a hybrid office and work-from-home policy. Galileo Headquarters is located at 111 Myrtle St, Ste 300, Oakland, CA 94607. 
Remote, work-from-home, location is possible in the following states: California, Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Texas, North Carolina, New York, or Washington. We are currently only able to employ candidates who are based in the states listed here.

SCHEDULE & TIME COMMITMENT
This is a full-time position, averaging 40 hours per week. While we prioritize work-life balance, there may be times when additional hours are necessary to meet deadlines and ensure the success of our programs. Additionally, HQ staff are expected to visit camp locations from June through August to experience camp first-hand and support our teams on the ground; 10-15% travel may be required for those located outside of a camp territory.

Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years in content marketing or related
  • Proven track record of growing email lists
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
  • Cross-channel experience (blog, social, email)
  • Data-driven approach to content optimization
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage a creative team of two copywriters and one graphic designer
  • Familiarity with design and CMS tools
  • Experience in education or parenting landscape (preferred)

Additional Information
