Working/Functional Title
Social Media and Digital Content Manager

Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Communication and Marketing, you'll be a strategic partner in shaping and executing social media and email marketing strategies that support the college's goals - including alumni engagement, student recruitment, reputation building, and internal communications. 

As a key member of our marketing and communications team, you will lead the planning, creation, implementation, and evaluation of digital content across a variety of platforms. You'll collaborate with colleagues who are passionate about storytelling, design, data, and strategy - and who are committed to professional growth, transparent communication, clear expectations and a shared sense of direction and purpose.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Translate story and marketing content into formats best suited for social media, including creating graphics and writing posts and captions. 
  • Curate, maintain and evaluate the college’s social media presence, including fulfilling admin and moderation functions and identifying opportunities to use new channels or platforms. 
  • Administer email marketing software and implement and evaluate campaigns, including building digital newsletters using existing story content. 
  • Provide expertise and best practices for the college’s various social media platforms. 
  • Develop and maintain the marketing and communication team's digital content calendar. 
  • Collaborate with MSU’s University Communications and Marketing team to align efforts with university-led social media and other digital initiatives and leverage resources. 
  • Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of social media tactics and email campaigns, including the creation of user-friendly reports for colleagues and college leadership. 
  • Keep the marketing and communications team up to date on social media and email marketing trends and technologies. 
  • Support efforts to foster and maintain ComArtSci-related social media communities such as LinkedIn Groups. 
 
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 1-3 years of related work experience. 
  • Experience managing or leading the management of a multi-platform social media presence for an organization. 
  • Experience editing graphics tailored to social media. 
  • Experience with social media management software such as Sprout, Hootsuite and Sprinklr. 
  • Experience using social media data to develop and refine social media strategy. 

Desired Qualifications
  • A commitment to lifelong learning, staying current with social media best practices, new technologies, and creating a positive, inclusive workplace. 
  • 3+ years of related work experience. 
  • Experience with email marketing software such as MailChimp, HubSpot and Constant Contact.
