Position Overview  | This position serves as the University of Idaho’s chief accounting officer, providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for institutional financial management, reporting and compliance. This position ensures the accuracy and integrity of the university’s financial data, strengthens internal controls, and supports the institution’s fiscal sustainability in alignment with state, federal and Idaho State Board of Education requirements. This position directs and coordinates all accounting operations, including General Accounting, Payroll, Student Accounts and Accounts Payable, and works collaboratively across university divisions to ensure consistent, efficient and transparent financial processes.

Duties may include: Oversee the preparation of accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting Lead coordination of the annual external financial audit and ensure timely completion of the audited financial statements Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures and systems with consistency, transparency, and compliance Assist in the development of long-term financial strategies, analysis and support activities related to bond finance Ensure financial data integrity across the Banner ERP system and other integrated financial applications Other duties as assigned
