Job Description Summary
The Fischell Department of Bioengineering is seeking a Coordinator, Academic and Student Affairs to support the administration of the department's undergraduate and graduate academic programs and student services. Responsibilities of this position include advising current undergraduate students on various issues related to academic and student services, supporting the department's admissions and recruitment efforts, managing special events throughout the year such as orientations and open houses, and managing academic initiatives such as first-year advising programs and student organization support. The department serves approximately 500 undergraduate students and 85 graduate students. The Coordinator reports to the Program Manager of Academic and Student Affairs.

Preferences:
- Master's Degree in an advising-related field or two or more years of experience in student services
Physical Demands:
Mostly sedentary work is performed in an office environment, requiring the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards for extended periods. Ability to engage in extensive reading of materials and computer screens. Ability to traverse short/long distances on and off campus to attend meetings and events.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: One (1) year of experience in higher education, academic advising, student personnel administration, or counseling.
Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of recruitment, retention, and customer service best practices.
Knowledge of organization and administration best practices.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products.
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service.
