Job Summary  |
The Transfer Champions Coordinator is essential in shaping the transfer student experience at the University of Utah by connecting with prospective and current transfer students, and engaging partners (staff, faculty, parents/support people, alumni) in championing transfer student success across campus. The primary objective of this role is to foster and leverage a network of partners to help transfer students reach their academic and career goals. Additionally, this role focuses on reaching current transfer students who historically have not engaged with our office through a variety of means beyond active programming & events. Together with the Transfer Student Success Team, we are on a mission to improve transfer student experiences and outcomes by providing leadership for and supporting coordination of transfer activities and functions across campuses.
This position reports directly to the Director of Transfer Student Success.
Responsibilities  |
-Develop and coordinate a Transfer Champions Program to highlight faculty and staff who are committed to transfer student success.
-Expand outreach, engagement, and training with faculty, staff, alumni, and parents/support people to increase support for transfer student success, retention, and graduation.
-Support coordination of Transfer Student Success events and activities for prospective and current transfer students.
-Provide 1:1 appointments to pre- and post-transfer students.
-Foster transfer pride and a positive transfer culture across campus.
-Create, maintain, review, and support updates to websites, social media, and student communication, with particular focus on content for staff, faculty, alumni, & parents/support people.
-Develop and disseminate transitional support content to transfer students post-orientation; to increase engagement with transfer students who are otherwise not engaged in TSS programs (Transfer Scholars Program, Transfer Workshops, Crimson Transfer Honors Society).
-Support data collection, analysis, and assessments for Transfer Student Success.
-Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications  |
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), plus one year of directly related experience

Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
