Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the position of Coordinator of Campus Engagement. This position reports directly to the Director of Campus Engagement and is located in River Forest, IL.
The Coordinator of Campus Engagement is responsible for supporting the Director of Campus Engagement in all efforts that enhance engagement and involvement at the University. The Coordinator of Campus Engagement supports the Office of Campus Engagement in creating and facilitating opportunities for leadership training, social engagement, multicultural growth, and developmental activities to enhance the Concordia student experience. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to a Christian, faith-based collegiate experience and will exhibit behavior that is consistent with an individual who serves with integrity and good character.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Provides leadership and direction for the operation of the Office of Campus Engagement, assisting with events and initiatives sponsored by the department and co-supervising student workers and graduate assistants
- Completes various administrative tasks, including submission of accounts payable forms, purchase orders and other forms to the Director, and assisting in management of the office email and phone inboxes
- Provides support for the development, promotion, and production of social, cultural, educational and spiritual student activities and programs that meet the needs and interests of the University's diverse population
- Oversee the efforts of the Campus Activities Board, a student programming body that oversees events such as Homecoming Week, Spring Formal, and monthly social programs, and serves as a co-advisor for the Student Government Association
- Holds Leadership Training meetings for student clubs and organizations once a month
- Meets with student leaders in clubs and organizations once a semester
- Serves as lead to students who are wanting to create and start a club, will meet with and discuss all expectations and guidelines for having a club on campus, and will assist in approving/declining clubs.
- Maintains an accurate list of all the current student clubs and organizations on campus
- Collaborates and coordinates with academic departments, Spiritual Life, Athletics, and Career Services in event planning, promotion, and awareness
- Creates and promotes campus involvement opportunities through various means and the promotion of clubs and organizations throughout the year
- Serves as a resource to all student-based clubs/organizations, as well as their assigned advisors by creating and distributing the student organization handbook
- Routinely assesses the programs/events offered in order to ensure that the needs and interests of CUC's campus community are met
- Coordinates in the Jump Start programs, and participates in Undergraduate Admissions Visit Days and Admitted Student Day events
- Helps manage our social media accounts and marketing for the Office of Campus Engagement.

- Knowledge of standard software packages and programs (e.g., Microsoft Office)
Qualifications Required:
- Must possess a valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle.
- Must be physically able to carry up to 20lbs up three flights of stairs
- Will be required to maintain strict confidentiality
Minimum Experience Required:
2-4 years of student affairs experience required
Preferred:
- Higher Education Experience in Student Life/Success
- Student Leadership Experience
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related field required
- Master's degree in student development or related area preferred
