Coordinator of Student Organizations Full Description

Join Purdue University Fort Wayne: 
Purdue University Fort Wayne is currently seeking a fulltime, onsite Coordinator of Student Organizations in the Office of Student Life. The Coordinator of Student Organizations will serve as the main support for all registered student organizations at Purdue Fort Wayne. The coordinator will assist students with creating, maintaining, and growing their organizations by connecting them with resources and opportunities. The annual salary for this position is $43,888.00.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage all Purdue Fort Wayne and Indiana University Fort Wayne student organizations by serving as primary point of contact.
  • Serve as a resource for student organization advisors, officers, and members.
  • Assist organizations by connecting them with resources and opportunities to recruit and retain members.
  • Create and implement training materials for incoming student organization officers.
  • Determine if student organizations have met requirements for annual recognition.
  •  Annual review of the Student Organization Handbook content to meet current university, office, and organization needs
  • Ensure student organizations are following guidelines and regulations in planning events and activities; uphold accountability outlined in the Student Organization Handbook when guidelines are not followed.
  • Manage student organization financial accounts via the COOL/FACES system and partner closely with business manager and Bursar office to ensure efficient processes.
  • Coordinate with Student Government Association to establish seamless cycle for starting new student organizations, offer support to student senate as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree.
  • 0-1 year of work experience within Student Life or student organizations at a higher education institution.
  • Experience with student organizations and implementing support programs and activities.
  • Ability to work effectively with and motivate students while providing them with opportunities for growth and development.
  • Have great attention to detail and ability to follow processes.
  • Must be able to take initiative, work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Must be able to accurately assess student needs, interact effectively with diverse populations, develop and implement posting policies and marketing strategies and enforce university policies related to student organizations.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and remain in compliance with the Purdue University Motor Vehicle Records Check policy.
 
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Working knowledge of student development theory and practice.
  • Demonstrated skills and proficiency with computers, software applications and emerging technologies.
