Job Summary | Coordination of School of Music recruitment efforts, including recruiting events, auditions, scholarship communications, outreach to state and regional high schools.
Responsibilities | Maintain a current and unified recruiting spreadsheet of all students contacted across the School of Music. This includes students who have participated in All-State Festivals, on-campus recruiting days, etc. This spreadsheet should be shareable to all Area Heads and Ensemble Directors and maintained during AY 2025-26 recruiting events. Participate in recruiting work for conferences such as UMEA and TMEA, Audition Days, and All-State Festivals, including creating contact cards for students to register their information through the system/spreadsheet discussed above. Coordinate with School of Music Administrative Office and Academic Coordinator on responding to admissions information inquiries in a timely fashion, sending a follow-up “Thank you for auditioning” email the week following an audition day, and working to ensure that all auditionees know the date/time of their audition. Attend and participate in M.O.R.E. Committee Meetings, working with this committee and the School of Music Associate Director, Operations on outreach and recruiting ideas and initiatives as they develop. Oversee student workers who assist with the audition and yield processes in the School of Music. Assist with the Academic Coordinator as assigned. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) in a related area; one year of experience in career services, human resources, working in a campus environment or post college experience; a basic knowledge of employment policies, legal constraints and interviewing techniques; and a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service and effective communication skills required. The ability to manage time and the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks are also required. A degree in a related area may include human resources, behavioral sciences, business or other relevant field.
