Job Summary | Oversees the daily operations of the CASC Training Clinic, including staff hiring, trainee scheduling, team development, policy implementation, and outcome evaluation. Serves as the primary liaison with Clinical Mental Health Counseling program faculty and ensures compliance with CACREP accreditation standards and state regulations. Provides clinical supervision and assumes legal responsibility for unlicensed trainees, including case review and supervision. Delivers direct counseling services such as individual, group, and crisis interventions, as well as psycho-social assessments and referrals. Leads training seminars, outreach, and prevention efforts, and contributes to continuous service improvement through research, policy development, and professional development activities.
Minimum Qualifications | Master’s degree from a clinical mental health counseling program, clinical rehabilitation counseling program, or addiction counseling program accredited by the council for accreditation of counseling and related educational programs “CACREP.” Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision Designation license (LPCC-S) in Ohio.
Preferred Qualifications | Experience in a mental health related administrative or coordinator role, or experience teaching counseling trainees, working in a higher education training clinic counseling center. Experience working with students in higher education, providing any of the following, but not limited to: short-term therapy, crisis response or urgent appointments, and providing group therapy. Experience in outreach or prevention work.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) | Effective written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills and decision-making abilities. Strong case formulation, assessment, and treatment skills in working clinically with a diversity of clients, issues and levels of impairment. Ability to collaborate collegially with a multidisciplinary staff, both within the Counseling Center and throughout CSU’s community. Ability to effectively utilize an electronic medical records system. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
