This is a temporary, part-time position. Responsibilities include providing intakes, individual and group counseling, emergency services, case management, and clinical consultations for Western Carolina University students.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position  | The Counselor will provide mental health services for WCU students. The Counselor will require knowledge and skill in providing assessments to determine diagnosis and treatment plan for clients and in ongoing individual and group counseling. The Counselor will need to have skills to assist students who are managing mental health emergencies.
Minimum Qualifications  | Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.Successful candidates must have a completed masters degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work or doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology and be eligible for commensurate licensure in the state of North Carolina before start date.
Preferred Qualifications  | Previous experience in a college counseling center or experience working with the young adult population. Additional expertise in at least one area including but not limited to trauma informed care practices, trauma specific interventions, eating concerns, or crisis management highly desired.
