Curriculum Coordinator I Full Description

Position Summary

The Student Progression Case Manager is an operational staff position within the Office of Student Engagement and Success (SES) at the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM). CVM is a close‑knit, student‑centered community committed to supporting learners from their earliest interest in veterinary medicine through graduation and entry into the profession. Working with CVM students offers the opportunity to engage with highly motivated, service‑oriented individuals in a collaborative and supportive academic environment.

The Office of Student Engagement and Success provides comprehensive support across the full student lifecycle, including pre‑veterinary advising, admissions, scholarship administration, academic success, and student life. The Student Progression Case Manager will provide support in student enrollment, academic support logistics, and academic tracking within this integrated unit.

As part of the Academic Success unit within the Office of Student Engagement and Success, the Student Case Manager for Student Progression coordinates support for DVM students navigating remediation, deferral, medical leave, dual-degree transitions, and other progression-related changes. This position serves as a central liaison among faculty, the Registrar’s Office, Assistant Director of Academic Success, the Associate Dean of SES, university offices, and student support programs to ensure students receive timely and consistent guidance. The Case Manager also oversees peer tutoring coordination, manages grading logistics, supports academic recordkeeping, and contributes to accreditation reporting and compliance with institutional and regulatory policies.

This position plays a critical role in operationalizing student records and support services, identifying and supporting at-risk students, and maintaining communications with students on leave from the academic program.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Education, Health Education, Educational Administration or a related field; six months to one to year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience and knowledge of curriculum in the area of coordination; word processing, database, spreadsheet and presentation software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Student Progression Case Manager must work well independently and in team settings; candidate should be a problem solver, quick learner and have compassion for students and faculty; understanding of learning management systems.
