Job Summary | This position is currently remote with occasional in-person meetings in Frankfort, KY. The applicant MUST live in the State of Kentucky to be considered for this position. Occasional travel may be required and will receive mileage reimbursement.
The Public Health Analytics and Informatics department is seeking a Data Management Specialist to join the team. This position is located in Frankfort, Kentucky, and will be working on the Department of Medicaid Services contract with the State of Kentucky.
The role involves managing participant recruitment and communication, developing recruitment materials, and conducting qualitative interviews, focus groups, and web-based surveys. Responsibilities include ensuring data quality and compliance with regulatory and internal standards, maintaining databases, and tracking project progress through documentation and updates. The role also entails data cleaning, transcription, and analysis of qualitative data, identifying themes and drivers, and creating reports and visualizations. Additionally, it supports special projects, assists stakeholders with technical expertise, and develops technical documentation such as codebooks, user guides, and quality control procedures. The Data Management Specialist will work alongside the team lead and principal investigator of the project to ensure all stakeholder needs are met per contract requirements.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Strong communication skills (verbal and written). Knowledge and experience with conducting focus groups.

Preferred Education/Experience | Preferred degree in Sociology, Psychology, Public Health, Social Work. Prior experience in data collection, research, and analysis.
