Job Summary  | The Data Analyst &Technology Lead serves as the University Career Center’s primary data strategist, systems administrator, and institutional data liaison. This position ensures that the Center effectively collects, analyzes, interprets, and communicates data that demonstrates student engagement, career readiness, job outcomes, and alignment with institutional priorities. The role is also responsible for managing the Center’s technology platforms, optimizing system performance, maintaining data governance practices, and providing training and troubleshooting support to internal stakeholders.

This role is essential to elevating data-informed decision-making, improving First Destination Survey participation, ensuring robust and accurate reporting for academic schools, supporting institutional requests—including from senior leadership—and enabling the University Career Center to consistently tell the story of its impact.

Minimum Education and Experience  | Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Psychology, Data Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics or other related field Three (3) or more years of experience maintaining data compilation, screening, validation and analysis utilizing a variety of software programs and integrating data from multiple institutional and external sources One (1) year experience cleaning and analyzing survey data using statistical software (SAS, R, STATA, SPSS, or an equivalent) and working with online survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, RedCAP) Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Technical Skills & Systems
Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and Power BI, including dashboard design, data modeling, visualizations, and automated reporting. Experience supporting or administering platforms such as Salesforce, Handshake, 12Twenty, or similar CRM or career systems.

Analytics, Data Management & Governance
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret, visualize, and clearly communicate complex datasets. High attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity. Commitment to data privacy, ethical data stewardship, consistent definitions, and strong governance practices. Experience developing process documentation, data governance frameworks, or system training resources.

Reporting, Outcomes & Domain Knowledge
Experience with First Destination Surveys (FDS), NACE reporting standards, or outcomes reporting. Understanding of career readiness, experiential learning, employer engagement trends, or student success analytics.

Communication & Professional Skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present insights to non-technical audiences. Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and respond quickly to ad hoc requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  | Data Analytics & Reporting Develop, manage, and deliver monthly data reports to academic schools summarizing student engagement, career outcomes, and trends. Respond to ad hoc data requests from senior leadership in a timely and accurate manner. Lead the analysis and reporting of job outcome data, including First Destination Survey results, ensuring alignment with NACE standards. Retrieve, integrate, and analyze data from central university sources (e.g., data warehouse, Registrar) to support comprehensive insight into student success patterns. Develop and manage surveys across all UCC areas Analyze survey data – including FDS, internship surveys, employer satisfaction, and program evaluations – to uncover trends and inform strategic planning. Create dashboards, visualizations, and summaries that clearly communicate student engagement and career outcomes to internal and external stakeholders. Support institutional and external reporting requirements, including submissions to NACE, UT System, THECB, accreditation partners, or other entities. Provide consultation and insight development to UCC leadership and campus partners, translating data into actionable recommendations for improving student success and employer engagement. 
Data Quality, Governance & Process Standardization
Establish and maintain data governance practices, ensuring consistent data definitions, and reporting standards across all UCC systems. Conduct routine audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of engagement, employer, advising, and outcome data. Develop and document standardized processes for data collection, storage, and reporting to ensure consistency and improve efficiency. Monitor data integrity across decentralized units and collaborate with campus partners to resolve discrepancies or improve data flow.
Technology Platform Management
Serve as the primary administrator for UCC technology systems (e.g., CRM, 12Twenty, and other platforms supporting career services and experiential learning). Oversee platform organization, workflow optimization, system configuration, and operational efficiency. Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolutions with vendors, campus IT, and internal stakeholders. Ensure consistent data flow, integration, and synchronization between platforms and institutional systems. Maintain detailed documentation of system processes, updates, workflows, permissions, and best practices. Lead training efforts for UCC staff on the effective use of technology systems and data-informed decision-making.
Collaboration & Communication
Partner with UCC leadership and career center staff to align data and technology practices with strategic goals and emerging needs. Collaborate with academic schools to understand data needs, ensure clarity in reporting, and strengthen campus-wide insight into student engagement and career outcomes. Work closely with Institutional Research, Student Affairs, Corporate Relations, and decentralized career centers to support unified data practices and shared reporting priorities. Clearly translate complex datasets into accessible narratives tailored for non-technical audiences, including senior leadership and external partners.

Additional Information  | Remote Work Notice:
After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval
