Job Summary | Programs, maintains, and updates degree audit systems to reflect current Cleveland State University (CSU) requirements for majors, minors, and other academic programs. Translates academic policies into accurate, efficient, and maintainable program logic within various systems. Tests and validates degree audits, analyzes curricular changes, and optimizes degree completion pathways. Supports system operations by running production jobs, writing queries, and troubleshooting issues related to upgrades and integrations. Participates in cross-department collaboration, documentation of procedures and data standards, and provides technical support for broader Registrar functions. Researches and recommends technologies and industry best practices to ensure continuous improvement and policy compliance. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s Degree Three (3) years of experience in student records and registration in education setting, or related experience in data analysis, database management, or educational technology. Experience in; data analysis, analytical problem solving, and/or translating technical information for staff, faculty and students.
Preferred Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, computer information systems, education, or a related field. Five (5) years of experience working with higher education student administration business systems. Experience with programming, testing, and maintenance of application systems, setting data standards, running and troubleshooting production jobs, systems technical support, and/or experience in degree audit system programming and maintenance. Understanding of curriculum and academic program structures in a higher education setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) | Knowledge of ERP level student information systems, and SQL. Excellent analytical and programming skills. Ability to function as systems thinker and be solution-minded with a big-picture perspective. Ability to be detail-oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data, maintain detailed comprehensive records, analyze, and organize information. Proficient in written and verbal communication skills, the ability to make effective presentations, have strong public speaking skills, develop, and drive change and effectively communicate change. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
