Position Overview
The Digital Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for translating WestEd’s digital marketing strategy into effective audience-facing content. Under the guidance of senior leaders, this role manages the creation and launch of mass email campaigns and develops web copy that drives engagement with WestEd’s research, resources, and services. Additionally, the Coordinator gathers and analyzesperformance data to inform refinements that strengthen our digital presence and impact.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement email marketing campaigns that effectively communicate and drive demonstrable interest in WestEd’s services.
- Create and optimize web content that drives engagement, supports search visibility, and conversion to inquiry.
- Collect marketing performance data across platforms and provide actionable insights that support improvements to campaign effectiveness.
- Manage multiple concurrent digital marketing projects from conception to completion.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex research into accessible digital content.
- Recommend tactical refinements to campaigns and content based on performance data and industry trends.
- Help maintain and update marketing dashboards and Salesforce data to monitor campaign performance and contribute insights that inform business development efforts.
Required Skills (must have on day one)
- Content Development: Create clear, engaging, and persuasive digital content that drives audience action and supports marketing goals determined by senior leaders.
- Digital Marketing Execution: Implement digital marketing plans across email and web platforms, including content creation, campaign setup, and day-to-day management to ensure successful execution.
- Data Analysis: Collect and interpret marketing metrics to identify trends and surface clear, data-informed observationstorefine or improve campaign performance.
- Project Management: Independently manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Digital Platform Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency with email marketing platforms (such as Marketo or similar tools) and content management systems.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SEO optimization and tools like BrightEdge.
- Familiarity with Salesforce marketing and campaign functions.
- Data visualization skills using Excel, SmartSheet, or similar tools.
- Experience with Google Analytics or similar web analytics platforms.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The full salary range for this position, WestEd level (8), is $70,400 to $110,000, but WestEd does not typically hire at or near the top of the salary range. The typical hiring range for this role is $70,400 to $88,000. The actual offer considers multiple factors, including but not limited to education, experience, internal equity, and other organizational needs.
In addition to the base salary, benefits include:
· 15% contribution toward retirement effective day 1 of employment
