Position Summary:
The School of Professional Studies is seeking a Director, Administration who is responsible for ensuring operational excellence and implementing the strategic plan for the Schack Institute of Real Estate. The Director will oversee departmental operations, including: managing departmental budgets, department programs, policies, procedures, and financial controls and payments. This professional will resolve complex issues requiring coordination across multiple Schack and SPS teams and will manage the industry relations team, student workers, and strategic initiatives. They will analyze and interpret statistics, accounts and balance sheets and work on forecasting resource needs and developing long-range plans in association with the Associate Dean. This role oversees all non-curricular aspects of the department’s programs (marketing, finance, budget, technology, scholarships,academic initiatives, etc.) in the service of supporting the department and its students. Areas of responsibility also include global programs, research funding applications and grant management. The successful candidate will serve as the point of contact for faculty and staff related to technical advice, problem-solving assistance around department/program goals, and policy interpretation.

Master's Degree Advanced degree in a related field
Required Experience:
7+ years progressively responsible experience in academic program administration or student services or equivalent combination. Must include experience supervising administrative activities, overseeing staff and operations.

Ability to carry out the management mission of an academic unit in a complex environment. Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities. Position demands significant attention to detail, effective communication, team collaboration, and occasional work on weekends. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and knowledge of other PC programs.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Professional administrative experience in a medium to large institution coordinating with a variety of departments. Demonstrated experience in relationship management in the corporate market or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of the real estate field.
Additional Information:
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $90,000.00 to USD $130,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
