Highlights
Oversee general administration and staff development within Degree Audit Systems and Support.
Ensure collaboration with Strategic Enrollment units, Academic Advising, Academic Affairs, Health Affairs, and the Graduate College for system alignment.
Conduct audits and quality control on degree audit documentation and system configurations.

Description of Duties | • Oversees the general administration of the department to include establishment and implementation of policies and procedures, development of goals and objectives, personnel administration and staff development. • Ensures collaboration among all Strategic Enrollment units, Academic Advising, Academic Affairs, Health Affairs and the Graduate College to ensure degree audit system configurations and functionality align with established university, state, federal and accreditation requirements. • Conducts audits to assess effectiveness of controls, accuracy of departmental records, and efficiency of operations. This includes review of degree audit documentation; analysis of system configurations and proper coding of curricula changes in degree audit system to safeguard information; ensuring accuracy of data; and promoting operational efficiency • Ensures proper coding (scribing) of curricula changes and performs system testing/validation and quality control. • Responsible for the collection and analysis of data related to degree audit processing. • Responsible for the development, oversight and management of all budgetary responsibilities for the assigned area. Oversees the overall direction, management, evaluation and training of employees engaged in degree audit processing. • Conducts meetings with personnel to establish, delineate, and review organizational policies and procedures • Serves as a liaison, coordinates, communicates and is a resource to academic advisors, registrar staff, financial aid staff, faculty, and other end users regarding degree requirements, changes and audit processes. • Collaborates with campus leadership and participates as an active member on internal and external assigned committees. • Attends related training and conferences as needed and approved and keeps abreast of any regulatory changes, policies or procedures that might affect the degree audit system. • Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervision Received | General supervision from assigned supervisor. Supervision Given | Direct supervision of assigned staff.
Required Education | Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Preferred Education | Master’s degree from and accredited university.
Licenses/Certifications | None. Required Experience | Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in one or multiple student enrollment areas and/or academic curriculum management/advising related experience, including supervisory experience. Preferred Experience | Experience with Ellucian Degree works or another degree auditing software. Knowledge of curriculum and academic program structures in a university setting. Experience with the application and use of integrated Student Information Systems, such as Banner.
Equipment | Use of standard office equipment. Working Conditions | Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; some travel and weekend work may be required. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Work is performed primarily in a general office environment and can be performed remote within close proximity to a UTRGV campus. If the work is performed remote, high-speed internet and a designated workspace are required.
The selected candidate will be required to attend on-campus meetings and participate in campus events as requested.
