Job Summary  | Leads Cleveland State University’s (CSU) talent life cycle including recruitment, employment, employee, compensation and labor relations and compliance. Manage talent management life cycle efficiencies, process improvements and operational excellence. Leads and manages the efforts of Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs) and Talent Acquisition and Compensation Team in forecasting current and future workforce needs and other daily responsibilities and provides guidance for delivering exceptional results and exceptional customer service. Provides proactive human capital approaches to challenges and opportunities across the University. Works closely with HR department peers to accomplish short- and long-term human capital strategies. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree, preferably in human resources, labor relations, business, or related field of study. Five (5) years of professional human resources experience in the areas of employee and labor relations. Must possess experience working in a union environment and leading change management processes. Two (2) years’ experience successful supervisory/lead experience team of professionals

Preferred Qualifications  | Master’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field Three (3) years’ experience successful supervisory/lead experience team of professionals Experience as a Human Resource professional in Higher Education and/or the public sector. Experience in collective bargaining processes and participation as a member of a collective bargaining agreement negotiating team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)  | Knowledge of employee and labor relations. Effective written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and decision-making abilities. Excellent listening skills and precise attention to detail. Ability to effectively engage with team members when issues arise to ensure appropriate communication and develop effective resolution plans. Possess negotiation and conflict resolution skills to address issues and opportunities for improvement. A high level of self-motivation and a flexible approach. A positive attitude and be able to balance compassion and the ability to make tough decisions. Ability to make autonomous decisions within the remit of the role. Possess the ability to effectively plan and coordinate, establish and maintain effective working relationships and prioritize workloads based on available resources. Possess a high degree of confidentiality to available information. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
