Duties and Responsibilities  | The position requires a high degree of collaboration and detailed communication across various teams, as they will have collaborative influence with executive stakeholders.

Collaborate and manage a team of architects (Solution, Technical, Data, Security) from business, application, network, and data-focused disciplines Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, mobile, networking, and cloud technologies Proficient in EA frameworks like TOGAF, including designing, implementing, and governing enterprise architecture Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical teams and business stakeholders Ability to identify, engage, and manage various stakeholders through the architecture lifecycle within the ITS and business leadership members Ability to lead and influence teams, stakeholders, and executives to drive change and the adoption of new architecture Familiarity with the principles of project management methodologies such as agile, waterfall, and hybrid, along with development frameworks such as DevOps, and their impacts, and the ability to plan, execute, and manage projects related to architecture design, implementation, and governance Understanding of IT governance frameworks and compliance requirements Possess the abilities of strategic thinking, problem-solving, foster a climate for collaborative teamwork, and provide coaching to resources

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.1. Propose, conceptualize, design, implement, and orchestrate solutions from end-to-end application development technologies and be responsible for the applicable technical architecture.2. Lead and manage integration flow development, as necessary, for application and data integration, and identify/facilitate improvements in existing integration processes.3. Researches and analyzes basic and complex issues surrounding the technologies and systems of the institution. Makes recommendations surrounding improving technologies, cost effectiveness, efficiency, and practices at an enterprise level across the institution.4. Assist with defining the system, technical, database, and application architectures, and in some instances, the business systems architecture for major areas of development.5. Deliver application architectures and development patterns for new solutions.6. Ability to translate business requirements into system-level design and detailed technical architecture documents.7. Technical leadership skills in driving architecture, helping with technical trade-offs, and driving best practices.8. Maintain a strong understanding of technology trends and collaborate with fellow team leaders on leveraging new technologies.9. Track and apply innovative and existing technologies, anchoring them in the university strategy and business model to assess their potential, and use rapid prototyping approaches to evolve innovations.10. Collaborate with teams on best practices, code reviews, internal tools, and process improvements.11. Participate in Technology Assessment Committees to provide technology expertise and guidance to committee members. Provide technical direction and support to various teams.12. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected when aligning solutions to enterprise business needs.13. Must be able to influence and persuade individuals and/or groups to identify common ground solutions.14. Regularly communicate in writing and person with end users and resource contributors about technology expectations and ongoing status.15. Minimum Education and/or Work Experience  | Education/Experience:• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering, or equivalent experience. Relevant industry experience, aptitude, and the ability to learn while applying knowledge of new and trending technological advancements.
• 10 years of experience in information technology, application development, infrastructure support, cloud computing, program/project management, consulting, or related experience.
• A minimum of 6 years of technical leadership and architecture experience, including demonstrated experience working in the design and development of large-scale applications in a distributed computing environment.
• Knowledge of business models, operating models, financial models, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting, and risk management.
• Familiarity with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, information security, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks (TOGAF).
• Knowledge of business ecosystems, software as a service (SaaS), infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, event-driven IT, and predictive analytics.
• Exposure and understanding of existing, new, and emerging technologies, and processing environments.
• Experience in creating and defining new architectural models and explaining complex problems or situations.
• Project planning and management skills, including the ability to identify and assess risk to determine action.
• Ability to plan architectural requirements three to five years in advance and aid others in accomplishing annual goals.
• Experience and thorough knowledge of secure systems.
• Experience conducting business case analysis, including cost-benefit analysis, is preferred, but not required.
• Must be detail-oriented, results-focused, and possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer relationship, internal consulting, and project management skills.
• Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects at the same time
• Must have the ability to work independently and in team settings.
• Experience in configuring and maintaining transaction-based systems.
• Some exposure to disaster recovery and business continuity plans and processes for an information technology or technical organization.
• Experience in Higher Education is a plus, but not required.
