The Director of Athletics Marketing will support the University of Idaho Athletics Department marketing efforts, digital strategy, and content creation efforts across all platforms. The position will be tasked with the creation and design of digital assets to be used for game day, recruiting and promotional collateral for web, social media, videoboards, and email communications; as well as printed materials (posters, tickets, pamphlets, brochures, game programs, etc.). The Director will assist in formulation and implementation of plans to maximize brand engagement among fans and external constituents, generate revenue and assist in recruiting. The position will report to Senior Leadership staff and will supervise student interns.

Position Overview 
The Director of Athletics Marketing will support the Athletics Department marketing efforts, digital strategy, and content creation efforts across all platforms. The position will be tasked with the creation and design of digital assets to be used for game day, recruiting and promotional collateral for web, social media, videoboards, and email communications; as well as printed materials (posters, tickets, pamphlets, brochures, game programs, etc.). The Director of Athletics Marketing will assist in formulation and implementation of plans to maximize brand engagement among fans and external constituents, generate revenue and assist in recruiting.

The Director of Athletics Marketing will assist in the development of comprehensive marketing campaigns and promotional efforts, concentrating on increasing attendance at athletic events, revenue generation (ticket sales, corporate sponsorship activation, merchandise sales, etc.), and increasing the overall brand footprint of Vandal Athletics. The position will report to Senior Leadership staff and will work collaboratively within the External Operations team, including Athletic Communications, Marketing & Ticket Sales, Learfield, and Broadcast Production staff to enhance the Vandal Athletics brand. They will work with coaching staffs of all Vandal athletic teams to assist in recruiting efforts and will also work closely with campus partners such as the University of Idaho Alumni Relations office and University Communications and Marketing.

The Director of Athletics Marketing will supervise several student interns, assigning them to specific sports for planning and implementing design and marketing materials.

 Position Qualifications 
Required Experience  | One-year work in intercollegiate athletics One-year experience working in marketing, specifically athletics marketing or communications

Required Education  | Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Communications, Communications or related field
Required Other  | Position is required to work non-standard hours
Additional Preferred  | Knowledge and examples of the principles of graphic design, illustration and typography including the ability to design, layout and prepare finished artwork to develop a visual product Experience in creative software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, Premiere, Media Encoder, InDesign, etc.) Experience in the sports and entertainment industry creating an engaging fan/audience experience Create effective marketing and social media campaigns Basic knowledge of NCAA rules as they pertain to assigned job duties Experience creating and implementing motion graphics Experience working with HTML/CSS
