Job Summary
The Director of LACE leads student success and retention initiatives at BCTC, with a focus on supporting under-resourced students through leadership development, mentoring, and community engagement. Reporting to the Associate Dean of Student Success Services, the Director manages student centered programs, collaborates across campus and with community partners, and advises on policies impacting student achievement. This role also oversees leadership programming, student support services, and contributes to institutional strategies that promote student engagement, belonging, and success.
Job Duties:
Lead development and delivery of academic, career, and leadership support services to promote student retention and success.
Support grant development and provide oversight for awarded federal and state grants related to student support services and outreach initiatives.
Manage daily operations, budgets, and strategic planning for the LACE office.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners to enhance student engagement and institutional alignment.
Serve as a liaison to internal and external stakeholders to strengthen partnerships that support student growth and success.
Facilitate programs and events that support leadership development, mentoring, and civic engagement.
Oversee student support initiatives, including learning communities and retention-focused programming.
Use data tools to assess student needs, track progress, and inform strategies.
Coordinate signature events like the Student Leadership Conference.
Provide coaching and skill-building opportunities for individual and small groups of students.
Serve on committees and contribute to college-wide retention and completion efforts.
Support Student Success Hub initiatives and other institutional priorities.
Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and institutional goals.
Minimum Qualifications:Master’s in Higher Education, Social Work, or related fields
Eight Years of Relevant Experience
Must have a valid driver's license, and access to reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Education, Higher Education, College Student Personnel, Social Work, Spanish or Latino American Studies or related fields and 10 years experience
Bilingual in English and Spanish with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
