Pay Range  | The compensation for this appointment will range from $68,640 to $73,000 annually and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this staff appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits. 
 Position Summary Information 
Summary  | Under general supervision, assists in the operational duties for the sport assigned at California Baptist University.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities  |  include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Understand and agree to abide by the mission of CBU and the CBU Athletics Department. Oversee academics and standards which include but not limited to: grade checks, eligibility reports, meetings, scheduling classes, out of class schedule, and study hall hours to ensure the academic needs are met. Coordinate the daily operations of the University’s softball program. Coordinate with Admissions on-campus visits and incoming players. Coordinate with Housing and Residence Life. Set-up fall housing for incoming recruits and summer for current players. Coordinate with coaches and other departments to facilitate player recruiting (visits, etc.) Call coaches on schedules, players, and events. Email database, online research. Create and manage recruiting mail-outs and contracts – ARMS database. Organize and arrange all team travel. Adhere to all CBU travel policies which includes room list, travel list, bus/van list, secure transportation, budget and meal money, boxed lunches, coordinate visiting teams and for us on road (call for BP times), set hotels, responsible for credit card reports. Organize and account for team equipment. Responsible for purchasing and ordering, travel bag, inventory of team equipment, initial meeting handout and organization, returning of equipment and storage. Ensure compliance and produce related documentation. Works closely with the department’s compliance office to ensure all assigned tasks are in compliance with the University, conference, and NCAA rules. Serve as Facilities liaison. Help with field prep if needed. Assist in organization and execution of practice sessions, including setting up and running practice drills. Responsible for Plyometric – weight room, umpires, Fall-Winter stat coordinator, video coordinator, and scouting – assist in pre/post game reports, CARA, discipline sheet. Compiles and maintains a variety of records related to softball operations, in compliance with University, conference, and NCAA rules Oversees and assigns off-the-field duties for student managers. Assists with Softball Booster Club related promotional activities. Consults with strength and conditioning and athletic training staff to ensure that student athletes adhere to training and nutrition regiments. Manage all pre, post and in-game meals / snacks. Manage social media sites and coordinate community service events. Adhere to all sport, institutional, conference and NCAA by-laws and regulations. Attend all Athletic Department and Compliance Meetings. Maintains a current player roster, squad list and player / parent ticket list at home and away game to meet compliance requirements. Coordinate with Ticketing Office on Spring player & staff pass list. Coordinate with Fan Engagement/Promotions office on group, youth leagues, and alumni events. Assist in all team functions such as team bonding, team outings, BBQ’s, etc. May provide transportation for recruits and/or student-athletes as needed, including driving to off-campus locations in accordance with institutional and NCAA policies.

Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures. Ability to travel, including domestic/international air travel, and work nights/weekends/holidays. Ability to lift approximately 25 lbs. 
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/PERMITS: A valid California Driver’s license is required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard or other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment, with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.
Education and/or Experience  | Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
