Advertised Job Summary  | Are you ready to empower faculty researchers and research administrators with the knowledge and skills to secure transformative research funding and continuously strengthen research management? The Office of Research at the University of South Carolina is excited to announce the advertisement for the Director of Research Training in the Carolina Grants & Innovation Hub.The Director of Research Training in the Carolina Grants & Innovation (CGI) Hub plays a pivotal role in advancing research funding growth and effectiveness at USC by leading the development, dynamic delivery, and continuous enhancement of research training. This position is responsible for designing comprehensive training programs for faculty researchers and research administration staff, facilitating engaging and outcome-focused trainings through innovative methods and adaptive technologies, and fostering inclusive learning environments that encourage collaboration, professional growth and excellence. The Director will cultivate and maintain strong collaborations and networks with internal and external stakeholders and will represent the CGI Hub professionally in a public-facing role.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience  | Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and at least 8 years of job related experience, including some prior management experience.
Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials  |
Preferred Qualifications  | Strong preference for demonstrated experience and knowledge in dynamic and engaging in-person training delivery, creation of on-demand, asynchronous training methods, curriculum development, instructional methods, evaluation, and project development. Experience working in higher education with research funding and/or research administration is a plus.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities  | Ability to be highly proficient in effective delivery of complex issues to multi-disciplinary audiences. Knowledge of the curriculum development process and various instructional methods. Must be skilled in the development and analysis of training evaluation and have the capacity to develop effective working relationships to promote constituents’ growth and development. Must have knowledge of data collection and analyses. Must have the ability to work with a high level of independence, exercise excellent judgement, and represent the CGI Hub professionally in a public-facing role
