Position Overview This position oversees the operations of student billing, receivables, loan administration and cashiering. The incumbent is responsible for efficient and effective unit operations and will maintain effective internal controls to ensure accurate financial information, safeguarding university assets and complying with regulations, accounting standards and university policy. Additionally, the incumbent will conduct general analysis of student accounting and administrative functions and will recommend and implement policy and procedures to improve them.
Duties may include: Lead, supervise and develop a high-performing team of employees within Student Accounts Provide clear guidance and customer service Plan, direct, organize and schedule accounting functions within Student Accounts Analyze, develop and document accounting and cost procedures Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and university policies Provide operating cost visibility to university officials Prepare and/or direct the preparation of complex financial reports, special statistical reports, detailed cost accounting information, surveys or analyses for management Provide training on accounting systems, procedures and practices Interpret accounting data, analyze reports and recommend and/or initiate actions to be taken Develop and maintain collaboration and communication across financial units and the university Ensure existing ERP and related systems are effectively meeting the needs of the university within Student Accounts Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications
Required Experience
Six years in professional accounting Four years in support of activities closely related to the accounting functions they will be managing which may include: Strategic planning, resource management and personnel supervision Understanding of accounts receivable systems, student financial services and compliance frameworks Ability to build collaborative relationships across institutional units Strong leadership and communication skills Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
Required Education | Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent OR Master’s degree in Accounting
Required Other | None
Additional Preferred
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business/Public Administration or closely related field CPA, CMA, CFGM or other related certification Knowledge of Banner Accounts Receivable, Student, and Finance modules, forms, and processes Experience in higher education finance, student loans and collections Experience with TouchNet integration into Banner Knowledge of federal student aid regulations
