Dreamscape Learn (DSL) is a collaborative venture between Dreamscape Immersive and Arizona State University. The mission of DSL is to merge the most advanced experiential pedagogy with the entertainment industry’s best cinematic storytelling to deliver unique virtual reality and 2D labs and full course experiences that are efficacious, scalable, and emotionally engaging.

We are seeking an Instructional Designer to join our Dreamscape Learn team. Every day you’ll make a difference in the lives of others by collaborating with other designers and subject-matter experts to design and implement engaging, interactive curricula, using best practices in education.

Essential Duties:
  • Under the direction of the Director of Curriculum Design, collaborate with other instructional designers, curriculum designers, instructional technologists, and subject-matter experts to design and implement engaging, interactive curricula using best practices in education.
  • Work closely with colleagues and unit leadership to develop, implement, evaluate, and refine learning design standards, procedures, and protocols.
  • Support the design and delivery of digital course content, materials, interactive and multimedia technology-driven components, and other learning materials, consistent with established design and development processes to ensure flexibility and reusability.
  • Effectively and creatively use technology to enhance and scale learning in DSL courses.
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of technology and adapting/implementing recommended changes in learning materials.
  • Develop and maintain resources for instructors, such as tutorials, reference materials, templates, and tools. 
  • Revise and enhance existing instructional materials, including assignments, based on feedback or requested edits from other designers or subject-matter experts.
  • Help to establish specifications for identifying or designing innovative educational software that meets accessibility standards for use in DSL courses.
  • Remain aware of technology directions, initiatives, and trends to provide ideas, guidance, and recommendations.
  • Assume or coordinate other duties or projects as assigned or directed.

NOTE:
  • This is a part-time (19 hours per week), fully remote position. A dedicated remote workspace with reliable and secure connectivity is required.
  • This is a temporary position ending on Friday, June 19, 2026, with the possibility to extend if the funding is available.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional design, pedagogical approaches, accessibility standards, and educational technologies.
  • Evidence of competency with industry-leading technologies and products for developing materials for learning and instruction.
  • Experience developing educational products as part of a team.
  • Experience designing e-learning content using Articulate Suite (i.e., Rise, Storyline).
  • Experience creating assignments using Canvas New Quizzes.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail in the creation, review, and maintenance of instructional materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality.
  • Demonstrated skill in using learning management systems.
  • Demonstrated skill in effective organization and time management in an environment with multiple priorities and short deadlines.
  • Demonstrated skill in verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
