About the Role:
The Editorial Assistant for Wiley's For Dummies is responsible for supporting the editorial processes of the content acquisitions team. The Editorial Assistant will provide support with essential tasks and will contribute to the creation of best-of-class content in the globally renowned For Dummies series.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end publishing workflow for a portfolio of titles, including proposal preparation, contract administration, author coaching, production coordination, and post-publication activities, in support of a minimum of two editors and 50 projects per fiscal year.
- Coordinate author and vendor communications across all phases of the publishing process, responding to inquiries within established timeframes and proactively escalating issues that may affect project timelines.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in proprietary publishing systems, including project trackers, title and pricing data, and contract documentation.
- Prepare internal publishing proposals according to defined submission deadlines.
- Process author contracts and payments, interfacing with colleagues in legal, accounts payable, royalty accounting, and other shared service departments as necessary.
- Support product marketing copy workflows for online catalog copy, covers, and Amazon product pages at defined production milestones.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written and oral communication and the ability to be persuasive and direct, yet tactful.
- Comfort with public speaking and presenting to internal teams, authors, and external partners.
- Fastidious attention to detail and thoroughness with attention to deadlines and a productive and focused work pattern.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel with ability to learn proprietary data management systems and Office 365 collaboration tools.
- Comfortable working collaboratively as well as independently to find solutions to emerging challenges.
- Team-oriented attitude.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Minimum 1 year of experience related to writing, proofreading, content creation, publishing, communications, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently and take initiative when navigating new or evolving challenges.
- Active and engaged presence on social media platforms, with an understanding of how authors and publishers use digital channels to build audience and drive discovery.
- Knowledge of AI tools.

The range below represents Wiley's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base pay for this role at the time of posting roles either in the United Kingdom, Canada or USA. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall within the range, however the ultimate salary offered for this role may be higher or lower and will be set based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, skills, and competencies.
