Executive Assistant Full Description

Overview: 
C&F Mortgage Corporation is hiring a dynamic, early-to-mid career professional to serve as a strategic assistant to our President & CEO. This is a rare opportunity to learn the full operation of a regional mortgage company, contribute to high-impact projects, and grow into a Chief of Staff-type role over time. This individual will begin as a hands-on assistant to the President & CEO, supporting strategic initiatives, communications, and operations, while also assisting other management levels. Over time, the role is designed to evolve into a Chief of Staff-type position, offering exposure to all facets of our mortgage banking business.

 Responsibilities: 
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities include the following.    
  • Provide direct support to the CEO and executive team on strategic projects and daily operations
  • Assist in managing the CEO’s LinkedIn presence (content creation, engagement, network growth)
  • Use AI tools like Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT to enhance productivity and problem-solving
  • Help track and drive progress on strategic initiatives and business goals
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and meeting materials using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Attend meetings, take notes, and follow up on action items
  • Learn the full scope of the mortgage business through self-directed exploration and project involvement
  • Support recruiting efforts and internal communications
  • Act as a liaison between executive leadership and other departments as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications:
  • 2–5 years of professional experience preferred; recent college graduates will be considered if they exhibit the required skill sets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn and social media strategy
  • Experience using AI tools like Copilot or ChatGPT
  • Mortgage banking knowledge is a plus, but not required
  • Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities
  • Self-starter with a desire to grow into a strategic leadership role

Preferred Skills:
  • Work management tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, Zendesk)
  • Familiarity in the mortgage industry is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a commitment to privacy and confidentiality.
