Job Summary/Basic Functions
The University of Mary Washington (UMW) invites applicants to apply for the position of Executive Director for Technology Operations, a senior technology leadership role reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer.This position serves as the operational leader for the University's Information Technology organization and plays a critical role in advancing UMW's technology strategy, service excellence, and digital transformation initiatives. Required Experience:
Demonstrated progressively responsible leadership experience managing enterprise technology operations in a complex organization.
Significant experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams across infrastructure, networking, systems administration, service delivery, and end user technology services.
Demonstrated experience managing enterprise networking, communications services, data center operations, cloud environments, and technology infrastructure.
Experience overseeing large-scale technology service delivery organizations and customer-facing support operations.
Demonstrated experience managing technology budgets, procurement activities, contract negotiations, and vendor relationships.
Experience developing technology lifecycle strategies, operational roadmaps, and modernization initiatives. Progressively responsible professional experience in audiovisual systems management.
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant training/experience.
Additional Considerations:Experience:
Experience within higher education or similarly complex mission-driven organizations.
Experience serving in a senior technology leadership role such as Executive Director, Director, Associate CIO, Deputy CIO, or equivalent.
Experience leading enterprise infrastructure modernization initiatives.
Experience supporting Microsoft 365, cloud services, modern endpoint management, and digital workplace technologies.
Experience supporting audit remediation, operational compliance, and technology governance initiatives.
Experience leading organizational change and technology transformation efforts.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Relevant industry certifications and advanced professional credentials.
