Brief Job Description | Administer the NYS TAP program under close supervision of a senior staff member. Process financial aid; provide counseling; complete consortium agreements and monitor students that participate in national, international, and FIT programs. Complete requests for Exchange and Study Abroad students within established timeframe. Advises students and parents of the financial aid process and provides alternative sources of financial assistance to meet university costs. Will work the service counter, answer office emails and phones, and assist support staff as needed. Serves as a financial aid presenter at internal and external events. Assist with maintaining the Financial Aid Department’s website and ensure that the Consumer Report is updated annually in accordance with Title IV compliance
Required Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite Familiar with Banner or similar Student Information System, HESCWeb, DegreeWorks, NSLDS and CODCurrent working knowledge of federal and New York State financial aid regulations Strong interpersonal, quantitative, administrative, and analytical skills Experience with financial aid systems Ability to work effectively with students, parents, faculty, and staff and contribute to the enrollment management efforts at the university
