Job Summary
Support Research Operations, Financial Stewardship, and Compliance Across the College of Health Sciences

The University of Kentucky is seeking a Financial Analyst Coordinator to join the College of Health Sciences Office of Research & Scholarship.

This position plays a key role in supporting research administration, financial oversight, procurement, and compliance activities across the College. The Financial Analyst Coordinator will oversee daily operations of the Office of Research & Scholarship, collaborate with faculty and leadership on budget planning and sponsored project management, and help ensure accurate reporting, effective financial controls, and adherence to university and sponsor requirements.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage procurement and purchasing activities for research-related goods and services while ensuring compliance with university, sponsor, and regulatory requirements.
  • Interpret and apply business policies, procedures, regulations, and guidance to support research operations and financial processes.
  • Support budget planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting for the College, research office, and other assigned units.
  • Assist principal investigators with budget projections, revisions, transfers, and ongoing financial monitoring.
  • Oversee daily operations of the Office of Research & Scholarship, including administration of faculty research awards, pilot awards, student awards, and other research funding programs.
  • Manage financial processes and budget oversight for college research centers and programs to ensure accurate reporting and effective budget control.
  • Develop, maintain, and annually review standard operating procedures and provide training on policy and process updates.
  • Collaborate with faculty, center leadership, Collaborative Grant Services, and university offices to support sponsored project effort management, compliance activities, and long-term financial planning.
  •  Create annual reports, dashboards, and analyses for research and college leadership.

Preferred Education/Experience
Previously training with campus software applications (SAP, BW, HANA, FES or other such software). Preferably within a university context: experience in business procedures and/or accounting functions; ability to successfully complete tasks within set deadlines; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with internal and external constituencies; a high level of professionalism and ability to work well in a demanding job environment.
