Job Description
The Financial Analyst within the Office of Research and Graduate Studies at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive financial management support. This position will primarily focus on financial projections, monitoring expenditures, and supporting internal grant mechanisms. Additionally, the Financial Analyst will serve as a backup for pre-award and post-award positions within the College. This role requires a strong background in financial management, attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced academic research environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
- Proven experience in financial management, preferably in an academic or research setting.
- Familiarity with grant funding regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency in financial management software and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
