At D2L, we are looking for developers who will help us advance our goal of using technology to transform teaching and learning around the world. We need software developers to work on a wide range of technologies including, but not limited to: distributed systems, user interfaces, mobile and cloud computing. As a developer, you will help make dreams a reality.

We are looking for software developers who have a passion for technology and code. Beyond code, developers are expected to collaborate closely with others including technical product managers, designers and QA. Your ideas and perspectives are essential to making sure we are building the right things.

Working on our front-end web platform team, you will be building responsive, accessible, and design-forward features, with a focus on Web Components, that power user experiences across our platform. We focus on engineering excellence in the browser, ensuring that our components are performant, scalable, and adhere to modern standards in accessibility and responsive design. While the role centres on front-end development, we’re looking for software engineers with a strong understanding of full-stack principles. This means going beyond visual implementation to consider architecture, data flow, and integration with backend systems. Success in this role requires a solid grasp of software engineering fundamentals, including component abstraction, state management, and testing strategies

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Ability to analyze and decompose problems into potential technical solutions
  • Experience with OO design and proficient coding skills (ie:  C++, C# or Java)
  • Strong understanding of Computer Science topics including: data structures, algorithms, databases, distributed systems
  • Experience in software development, preferably in a technology focused company
  • Acumen with Artificial Intelligence tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or similar technical discipline

D2L operates in a hybrid work style, with expectation of 3 days per week in office. 

The expected base salary range for a new hire in this role is listed below. The annualized base salary offered is determined by each candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, training and experience. It is aligned to ensure both internal and external competitiveness using market data for the geographic location and industry. As part of the total compensation at D2L the role may be eligible for additional benefits including a Wellness Subsidy, Equity Grants, Variable Incentive, and more.

Base Salary Range
$75,000—$98,000 CAD
