RCC seeks applicants for the General Administration Coordinator I position. This is a full-time, classified staff position, with an excellent benefits package. The anticipated salary range will be $50,000 – $67,000, commensurate with experience. This position is located on the Warsaw campus.
Reporting to the Vice President of Instruction & Student Success, the General Administration Coordinator will provide senior administrative support to the Department of Instruction & Student Success. This includes direct administrative support to the Vice President of Instruction & Student Success, all Deans/Director, Learning Resource Technologists, and all credit and non-credit programs. This position will also serve as the Coordinator for the Prison Education Programs (PEP) at Northern Neck Regional Jail (NNRJ).
The General Administration Coordinator will ensure that the Department of Instruction & Student Success operates at optimum efficiency and will oversee the day-to-day operations, maintain accurate records, assist with establishing and maintaining department timelines, and maintain an accurate department budget. The incumbent will coordinate activities with and provide assistance to other departments as needed, and coordinate updates to the college catalog, faculty handbook, academic calendar and class schedules. The successful candidate will also provide administrative support to college committees and assist in purchasing activities.
As the coordinator of NNRJ, this position will provide direct academic support to incarcerated students, program coordination and communication, instructional oversight, data management and reporting, and student/tutor outreach and recruitment.
Special Assignments | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications | Strong administrative support experience. Strong organizational skills to support divisional priorities and program coordination. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook Calendar), Zoom; adept at managing electronic files and office equipment (keyboard, copier, phone systems), both on campus and remotely. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, customer service skills and interpersonal skills. Able to work effectively with minimal supervision, including in remote settings, while maintaining strict confidentiality and high productivity. Excellent problem-solving ability. Ability to work with incarcerated students and students who have identified risk factors for academic success.
Additional Considerations | Considerable work experience in higher education. Knowledge of or experience with prison education programs.
