Job Summary  | Are you a creative and detail-oriented graphic designer with a passion for visual storytelling and digital design?

The Graduate Programs & Executive Education department at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah is seeking a Graphic Designer to join our Enrollment Marketing team. In this role, you will create engaging, brand-aligned visuals to drive enrollment for our graduate programs and executive education offerings, while also contributing to campaign strategy, analytics, and social media support.

This is an exciting opportunity for a designer skilled in both print and digital media, with a focus on editorial, UX design, and marketing performance. You will collaborate closely with our marketing team, working on everything from promotional materials and social media graphics to swag design and event collateral. We’re looking for a full team member who will be fully trained, involved in projects, and plugged into all aspects of our marketing work.
Responsibilities  | Design marketing materials including print collateral, digital ads, social media graphics, presentations, email templates, and event signage. Maintain a consistent design aesthetic across all materials in alignment with university and program branding guidelines. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop creative concepts and ensure visual cohesion across all platforms. Coordinate the design of program swag, including placement proof Manage and maintain inventory of printed materials and ensure timely distribution for events and outreach efforts. Support UX and editorial design for program websites and digital interfaces. Analyze campaign performance metrics to drive data-informed decisions. Collaborate with external marketing vendors to identify opportunities, align creative assets, and support comprehensive campaign execution. Conduct market research and competitive benchmarking to inform strategies and keep our programs relevant and attractive. Track campaign performance and provide reports and recommendations for ongoing optimization. Lead the standardization and visual design of student-facing communications across all graduate business programs—including event promotion, newsletters, presentation templates, and other materials—to reduce inefficiencies and improve branding consistency. Expand marketing support for Executive Education, including the design and execution of email drip campaigns, one-off communications, sales and business development collateral, and event support. Help elevate social media content through high-quality design and campaign integration. Stay current with design trends, marketing technologies, and professional development opportunities to improve team capabilities. Work closely with both remote and on-campus team members, program directors, and stakeholders. Participate in team meetings, trainings, events, and collaborative projects. Provide support and coverage for MBA events and other priority initiatives as needed.

Minimum Qualifications  | Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, or a related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) plus 3 years of related experience and a portfolio at the time of the interview required; demonstrated effective communication skills; the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines; and a commitment to provide excellent customer service required.

Preferences  | Proven experience as a graphic designer with a strong portfolio showcasing both print and digital work. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and other relevant design tools. Strong understanding of layout, typography, UX, and editorial design across digital and print formats. Creative thinker with a curiosity for new marketing trends and design approaches. Highly detail-oriented and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, easygoing nature—able to work effectively within a small, remote team. Experience working with vendors and managing production processes for swag and printed materials. Familiarity with web design, CMS platforms, and basic HTML. Coachable and adaptable, with a growth mindset and openness to feedback. Customer-service focused, with a passion for supporting prospective students and promoting educational programs.
