The Opportunity
At Pearson, we believe learning should prepare every student for the life they imagine — whether their next step is college, a career, or a pathway they have yet to discover.
We are looking for an exceptional commercial leader to lead the next chapter of Pearson’s K–12 business in the United States. This is a national leadership role focused on growing market share, winning in complex education markets, and building a high-performing sales organisation.

The right leader will know K–12 deeply, bring proven state adoption experience, and combine strategic commercial judgement with the energy to build, lead, and grow through change.

What You'll Lead
Build a Winning National K–12 Growth Strategy
Own the national sales strategy for Pearson’s K–12 business, translating market opportunity into sustained revenue, customer impact, and market share growth.
  • Develop and lead commercial strategy across states, districts, and priority markets.
  • Identify where Pearson can win and focus the organisation against those opportunities.
  • Drive new business, renewals, expansion, cross-sell, and competitive takeaways.
  • Use customer insight, market intelligence, and data to sharpen execution

Lead and Win in State Adoptions

State adoption expertise is essential. You will develop and execute multi-year strategies across major opportunities, anticipating adoption cycles and mobilising Pearson around the markets that matter most.

Build and Lead a Winning Sales Organization

Lead, coach, and develop a large, geographically distributed national K–12 sales organisation and its leaders, creating a culture of ambition, accountability, collaboration, and high performance.

Grow Market Share and Customer Impact

Understand Pearson’s competitive position market by market and build strategies that increase relevance, strengthen customer relationships, grow revenue, and expand market share.

You will be equally comfortable shaping a multi-year national growth strategy, leading a major state adoption, structuring an important district pursuit, or engaging directly with senior education leaders.

Help Shape the Business

Partner closely with Product, Marketing, Customer Success, Finance, Revenue Operations, and other leaders to determine where Pearson invests, how we differentiate, and what capabilities we build next.

Run the Business with Rigor

Own sales performance, forecasting, pipeline health, territory strategy, productivity, and execution against annual and multi-year goals.

Create transparency, identify risks and opportunities early, and establish an operating rhythm that enables consistent execution.

What You Bring
  • Senior commercial leadership experience in K–12 education or closely adjacent markets, with a strong understanding of the US education landscape.
  • Proven success leading large, geographically distributed sales teams through growth, transformation, and complex market dynamics.
  • Direct experience developing and winning state adoption opportunities, including multi-year planning, stakeholder engagement, and competitive positioning.
  • A track record of owning substantial revenue portfolios, expanding market share, and converting strategy into measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Credibility with senior district, state, customer, partner, and internal executive stakeholders, supported by strong commercial judgement and executive presence.
  • The ability to build high-performing teams, create clarity and accountability, and lead with energy through change.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree welcomed but not essential.
