About the Opportunity
Ellucian’s Strategy, Innovation, and Delivery Excellence (SIDE) team is seeking a Higher Education Strategic Consultant to deliver integrated technology strategy, governance, and modernization services for our Ellucian Managed Services (EMS) clients.
In this role, you will support our Strategic Advisory Engagements (SAEs), develop Customer Architecture Reference Models (CARMs) leveraging the EduCause and HEEAR frameworks, create digital transformation plans, and contribute to demand management and other strategic services. Candidates should be comfortable engaging with both executive leaders and functional users. While deep technical expertise is not required, familiarity with technology delivery processes and the ability to translate them into actionable client strategies is essential.
Where You Will Make an Impact
- Deliver best-in-class strategic services to EMS clients, including strategic alignment, capability mapping, roadmap development, technology strategy, and modernization planning.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to higher education leaders by facilitating workshops, gathering insights, and aligning recommendations with institutional priorities.
- Manage high-impact projects and partner with internal teams to ensure alignment between modernization initiatives and delivery excellence goals.
- Develop reusable tools, frameworks, and artifacts to ensure consistent, high-quality strategic services.
- Apply expertise in enterprise architecture, change management, AI, and/or strategy development to maximize the value of ERP and enterprise platforms across finance, HR, student systems, and other domains.
- Contribute to the expansion of Ellucian’s strategic service catalog and drive continuous improvement.
- Support EMS clients in demonstrating ROI and preparing for SaaS transitions.
What You Will Bring
- 7–10 years of experience in strategy development, digital transformation, change management, enterprise solutions, or strategic planning, preferably in higher education.
- Proven ability to manage projects across multiple teams and stakeholders, including both C-suite executives and functional users.
- Demonstrated success in designing and implementing frameworks, processes, or methodologies that enhance strategic delivery.
- Skilled in engaging diverse stakeholders and translating institutional needs into actionable strategies.
- Familiarity with SIS, ERP, and related enterprise systems, as well as emerging technologies such as AI.
- Knowledge of change management and architecture frameworks (ADKAR, Kotter, TOGAF, HEEAR, capability models).
- Excellent communication, documentation, and client-facing skills.
