Job Description  | The HR Systems and Data Specialist provides first tier support for HR technology systems and reporting needs. This role focuses on maintaining HR systems, assisting with upgrades and testing, and creating routine reports. The position works closely with HR and IT colleagues and is designed to build technical and analytical skills while contributing to efficient HR operations, compliance with policies and accurate data.

Education and Experience  | Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 2+ years’ experience in an HR role with systems and reporting responsibilities. Experience with PeopleSoft HCM (or other HCM systems/HRIS), Tableau, or similar reporting tools preferred in an academic setting.
Skills and Knowledge  | Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Experience with HCM/HRIS preferred. Experience in Tableau, Microsoft Access, or other reporting tools s a plus. Familiarity with complex data structures and integration of systems.  Analytical & Communication Skills: Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to accuracy and detail. Professional Attributes: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment. Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and demonstrate a strong service orientation. Commitment to confidentiality and discretion.

Responsibilities  | HR Systems Maintenance: Provide day-to-day support for HR systems, including configuration updates, error resolution, security setup, and system monitoring. Assist with system testing, documentation, and application of vendor upgrades or enhancements. Partner with HR staff to ensure systems and processes function in a manner that aligns with University policies and initiatives. Project & Process Assistance: Assist HR staff with evaluating and improving business processes to increase efficiency and accuracy. Support HR system projects by helping with data conversion, testing, and documenting workflows and standard operating procedures. Reporting & Data Support: Generate routine and ad hoc reports using Tableau. Compile and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy. Assist with building dashboards and data visualizations to support HR operations and compliance needs. Learning & Professional Development: Participate in training opportunities and cross-functional projects to build skills in HR business processes, HR systems, and reporting tools.
