Institute of Government and Politics (IOGP) Office Marketing, Social Media, and Event Coordinator Full Description

Overview: 
The Institute of Government and Politics (IOGP) aims to enhance understanding of how governments and nongovernmental actors interact to solve problems and create opportunities. We do this, in part, by providing high quality internship and other experiences at the local, state, and national.
 
The IOGP is in the process of an expansion as we aim to increase local, state, and national internship offerings to all students on campus. We are looking for a candidate who will become an important member of our team. This individual will play a key role in the development and implementation of our branding, marketing, recruitment, social media, information campaigns, and public events, on and off campus.
 
Hours are negotiable and will depend on the candidate's schedule and availability. Candidates will be expected to work approximately 10-20 hours per week, depending on organizational need. Pay will be a minimum of $15 per hour, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. All qualified individuals are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities: 
  • Design images/graphics for website and marketing materials; collaborate with other office members to maintain up-to-date images for the webpage, blog, and social media
  • Help manage and update all social media platforms regularly
  • Create biannual newsletters to send to alumni and other external and internal audiences
  • Photograph events for documentation and future marketing materials
  • Help develop and execute recruitment and marketing campaigns for IOGP sponsored events and internships
  • Keep abreast of all Institute events and internship offerings
  • Assist in the promotion of IOGP events by developing promotional materials and executing the distribution of those materials
  • Assist with the organization and on-site coordination of IOGP events
  • Help with day-to-day office tasks
  • Create a welcoming and professional space conducive to career development
