Job Description:
The Instructional Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering end-to-end learning solutions that support clinical, operational, and leadership development across a multi-site dental organization. This role reports to the Learning & Development leadership team and owns the full learning lifecycle from needs analysis through design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
The Instructional Designer creates engaging instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (vILT), and eLearning modules delivered through the LMS, including SCORM-compliant content. This role partners closely with subject matter experts, practice leaders, and corporate stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable learning experiences that improve performance, consistency, and patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end instructional design for ILT, vILT, and eLearning programs across clinical, operational, and leadership topics
• Conduct needs analyses with stakeholders to identify performance gaps and define learning objectives
• Design learning pathways, curricula, and program structures aligned to organizational goals
• Develop facilitator guides, participant materials, job aids, assessments, and reinforcement tools
• Build SCORM-compliant eLearning modules for LMS deployment using authoring tools
• Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions for diverse audiences across the organization
• Manage learning projects from intake through launch, including timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables
• Partner with SMEs to translate complex clinical and operational content into learner-friendly materials
• Ensure consistency in instructional design standards, branding, and learning experience quality
• Evaluate training effectiveness using learner feedback, performance metrics, and business outcomes
• Maintain and update existing learning content to ensure accuracy and relevance
• Support LMS administration including course uploads, updates, and reporting as needed
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise learning initiatives
Qualifications:
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in instructional design, content development, or corporate training
• Experience designing and delivering ILT, vILT, and eLearning programs
• Experience developing SCORM-compliant courses for LMS deployment
• Strong facilitation skills for both in-person and virtual audiences and ability to coach facilitators on presenting skills - Large audience presentation experience (200+)
• Proven ability to manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously
• Experience working with SMEs and translating technical or clinical content into learning materials
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Proficiency with common authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate or similar)
• Experience working in or supporting healthcare or multi-site organizations preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development, Communications, Business, or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in dental, healthcare, or clinical education environments
• Experience owning full learning program lifecycles (analysis through evaluation)
• Familiarity with learning measurement models (Kirkpatrick or similar)
• Experience supporting leadership development or operational training programs
• Strong visual design skills for creating engaging eLearning and presentation materials
• Experience working in fast-paced, decentralized organizations with multiple stakeholders
• Certification in instructional design, learning experience design, or related field - Knowledge of cutting-edge tools, resources, and technologies.
• Experience with LMS platforms (Docebo, Cornerstone, Workday Learning, UKG, etc.)

The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $130,000 per year.
