The opportunity
As an Instructional Designer you will work with subject matter experts and cross-departmental partners in the design, assessment, and revision of high-quality learning experiences. Your work will focus on Competency-based Education courses and will report to an Assistant Director of Learning Design.

You’ll collaborate with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to design and deliver high-quality learning experiences on time. You’ll play an active role in shaping learning design decisions, ensuring each experience aligns with the degree program’s goals and meets institutional standards for rigor, quality, scalability, and student success. Your work will support the needs of students, faculty, and student support staff alike.

What you'll do:
  • Design high-quality, technically complex, scalable online learning experiences in collaboration with academic partners and subject matter experts, managing the schedule and quality of each project and associated deliverables
  • Design high-quality and valid assessments to assess evidence of learning for both formative and summative performances
  • With your input, we will engage in ongoing quality reviews and participate in data-informed assessments of learning experiences to identify areas of improvement in instructional clarity, engagement, and learning pathways
  • Independently manage multiple project timelines and available resources while driving towards ongoing process efficiencies in instructional design efforts
  • Apply instructional design skills, relevant learning theories, and knowledge of learning technologies and environments to the design of high quality learning experiences across varied delivery modalities
  • Adhere to our standards for learning experience build specifications within the LMS and experimenting with new standards and building in collaboration with LMS experts

What we're looking for:
  • 2+ years experience with combination of education and experience in instructional design, educational technology or related discipline
  • Masters degree
  • Knowledge of learning management systems and educational technology platforms

CompensationThe annual pay range for this position is $51,608.00 - $82,590.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations. We expect this position to be hired in the following target hiring range $57,027.00 - $77,155.00.
