Job Summary | This exciting position plays a vital role in supporting the Jindal School of Management’s ability to deliver online courses with consistency and high quality. The primary responsibilities include evaluating and assessing both asynchronous and synchronous courses for alignment with JSOM standards, through the review of syllabi and course content. The role also provides technical support for refreshing online courses within the learning management system (LMS).
The selected candidate will coordinate with the JSOM Academic Director of Distance Learning and faculty to implement course updates that meet JSOM standards.
The ideal candidate is naturally curious and enjoys exploring innovative processes and technologies that enhance the effectiveness and engagement of online programs. A key aspect of this role involves providing thoughtful feedback to faculty to support course improvements. Additionally, this position will assist with training faculty and student workers involved in the synchronous delivery of courses.
Minimum Education and Experience | Bachelor’s degree in instructional technology, education, communications, information technology, curriculum design or related field; three to five years experience in course design, curriculum design or e-learning, preferably in higher education; experience with graphic and multimedia authoring software and Web site design software; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience Three to seven years of experience in online education and course auditing, with demonstrated strengths in documentation. Experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or working with learning management systems (LMS), preferably within a higher education environment. Proficiency with graphic and multimedia authoring tools such as Camtasia, Articulate/Rise 360, YuJa, Panopto, and Canva. Experience supervising or mentoring student workers. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Other Qualifications | To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Conduct course refreshes of existing online courses to ensure alignment with JSOM standards, utilizing a checklist of required elements and working alongside a student worker within the JSOM Online Programs team. Evaluate JSOM online courses to ensure they meet established JSOM standards. Coordinate all faculty communications in collaboration with the Academic Director of Distance Learning. Ensure that any necessary updates are made to align courses with JSOM standards, particularly regarding the syllabus, LMS course organization, and content. Collaborate with the Academic Director of Distance Learning to identify courses that require redevelopment or the creation of new online courses. Assist the Academic Director of Distance Learning in providing training to faculty and teaching assistants involved in the synchronous delivery of courses. Provide support to faculty members engaged in self-development using Camtasia and other relevant software tools. Perform additional duties as assigned; training will be provided as needed.

Remote Work Notice A hybrid remote work schedule may be available (currently 1-day remote weekly).
Employee must be located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice. Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required upon employment, and use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required.
