Instructional Developer (ID) Full Description

Instructional Developer (ID)

A. Harold and Associates, LLC (AHA) is seeking an Instructional Developer (ID). The ID is a core member of the development team, working directly with Quality Control Specialists (QCS), Subject Matter Experts (SME), and Web Developers/Computer Graphics Specialists (WD/CGS) to design and develop instructionally sound training products in accordance with contractual requirements. This is a remote position, with occasional travel required to Pensacola, Florida, as needed.
 
This position is dependent on the award of a contract, which is expected to be finalized in September 2025.
 
Specific Duties/Job Responsibilities:
  • Designs, develops, produces, and implements instruction in a systematic manner
  • Selects instructional media, materials, and equipment to meet learning objectives
  • Plans and accomplishes production of all instructional materials
  • Identifies the relationship between training deficiencies and training system modification requirements
  • Writes training materials, including tasks, learning objectives, format, organization, content, lesson maps, instructional strategies, methodologies, learning events and activities, test items, interface design, and controls
  • Develops video and audio scripts, storyboards, graphics, and data files
  • Develops lesson plans, exercise controller guides, on-the-job training handbooks, and student materials, including information sheets, diagram sheets, job sheets, assignment sheets, problem sheets, and outline sheets
  • Plans, develops, and reviews objectives, content, methods, resources, and procedures of evaluation in an unbiased way
  • Develops testing instruments to pretest learners’ previous learning levels, measure cognitive, psychomotor, and performance accomplishments during formative and summative evaluations
  • Develops testing plans, a test administrator’s guide, and a cross-reference list of test items and related learning objectives
  • Assists in formative and summative evaluations and in applying the findings for improving training and instruction
  • Delivers concise communication, able to adapt to customer needs
  • Performs other duties as assigned
 
Required Experience/Education:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Practical knowledge and skill in interpersonal communications with civilian and military personnel, including oral briefings/presentations, listening techniques, and developing written material, especially technical reports documenting research and analysis performed
 
Preferred Experience/Education:
  • Degree in Education, Psychology, or Instructional Systems Design 
  • Navy training systems and/or rate training experience 
  • Navy instructor or Master Training Specialist (MTS)
  • Gap analysis and/or training requirement workshop experience
