MPS, a division of Macmillan Publishers, a leading US publisher of Trade and Academic titles, has a job opening for a Junior Account Representative in our Gordonsville, Virginia facility. MPS provides back office support, warehousing, and, fulfillment for Macmillan US, and is their primary distribution facility for North America.
Purpose of the Role:
The Junior Account Representative is responsible for enforcing the credit policy and collection practices for their assigned accounts. They are required to assist in reconciling discrepancies on these accounts and help with the preparation of yearly settlement proposals for each of their assigned accounts.
Key responsibilities:
- Matches debits and corresponding credits on an account.
- Completes a reconciliation of all items on the account independently and submits to settlement offer to management for review.
- Communicates with customer to clear debits and credits from account.
- Helps in identifying root cause for pattern issues on account and provides management with recommended solutions.
- Attends reconciliation meetings with customer as necessary to provide expert advice.
- Conforms to all company policies and procedures (Employee Handbook)
- Provides major accounts with documentation as needed.
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Skills/experience required:
Essential: One to Two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desirable: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and mainframe systems.
Key Relationships:
This role requires having relationships with various departments in the organization including Customer Service, Order entry, Traffic and IT. It also requires having relationships with the Accounts Payable employees for their designated accounts.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, or reach with hands and arms.
