KIPP NYC Public Schools is a non-profit network of 18 free, public charter schools in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. We partner with families and communities to create joyful and rigorous schools in pursuit of a more just world. In 1995 we started our first middle school, KIPP Academy, in the Bronx, with a vision that every child grows up free to create the future they want for themselves and their communities. Today, our network consists of eight elementary schools, nine middle schools, one high school, and KIPP Forward, a comprehensive program to support our students and alumni in choosing and preparing for the educational and career paths that fit their goals and sense of purpose. KIPP NYC currently serves more than 11,000 students and alumni, has a staff of more than 1,000 (11 % of whom are alumni), and continues to grow!

Job Description
Position Overview
The Recruitment Manager is an essential member of the KIPP NYC Talent team, responsible for bringing great teachers and committed professionals to KIPP NYC. This position is ideal for an eager, driven team player who is passionate about high-quality education for all children in NYC.  The Manager will need to be creative in their approach to develop new approaches for driving KIPP NYC's recruitment success in a competitve environment. Reporting to a Director, Talent, the Recruitment Manager will oversee their own searches for a specific school or team and collaborate with each hiring manager to ensure our KIPP NYC students have the best educators everyday. 

This role is based in NYC and will require travel to our schools. Cadence and frequency of travel to schools is determined by your leadership team. If you relocate outside of a commutable distance or out of the state of NY, your employment will be subject to review, which may include separation from KIPP NYC. It is important that you notify HR if you move or have plans to relocate.

Responsibilities: 
The Recruitment Manager will be responsible for the following scope of work:
  • Full Cycle Recruiting:
    • Partner with the recruitment team and KIPP NYC stakeholders to identify, attract, and select diverse, high-quality candidates.
    • Conduct application reviews and phone interviews in a friendly, efficient, and rigorous manner for designated openings with top quality candidates efficiently and with urgency.
    • Develop relationships with prospective talent, creating a positive candidate experience with timely communications, and effectively and passionately selling the KIPP NYC mission and values.
    • Regularly monitor the progress of prospective candidates throughout the recruitment process; manage cultivation and selection data and use data to drive change in efforts.
  • Relationship Management:
    • Build strong relationships with KIPP NYC school leaders and principals to ensure alignment of the recruitment process with program needs.
    • Create tools and train school-based staff on recruitment best practices ensuring a positive candidate interview experience and equitable selection process.
  • Prospect Cultivation: 
    • Develop innovative strategies for researching and cultivating identified pools of talent and individual prospects.
    • Build authentic relationships with connectors and prospective staff.
    • Serve as a project manager for one or more sourcing initiatives to broaden and diversify our applicant pool.
    • Represent KIPP NYC in a professional and engaging manner at internal and external events.
    • Coordinate logistics for events, travel, job postings, job fairs, and other marketing campaigns.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree preferred,
  • 3+ years of recruitment or talent management experience, school experience highly preferred
  • Experience with Application Tracking systems, such as SmartRecruiters, and basic data tools, Google suite, or Excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop productive working relationships with multiple stakeholders across the organization
  • Strong work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit and flexibility to accommodate high level of responsibility, multiple priorities, and changing environment
  • Meticulous attention to detail with an ability to produce high quality work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Additional Information
Compensation and Benefits:
KIPP NYC offers a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 - $92,000. Salary ranges at KIPP NYC are standardized based on role level and role function. Individual salaries are determined through a lens of equity, accounting for years of experience relevant to the role and scope of responsibilities, and are benchmarked against others within the same salary band.
