Language Learning Specialist, Rosetta Stone - Endangered Languages Full Description

IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a Language Learning Specialist with a primary focus on Endangered Languages to join our Rosetta Stone curriculum development team. The Rosetta Stone immersive language learning platform is trusted by individuals, schools, and global enterprises alike. #LI-SR1

In this role, you will use your expertise in language acquisition and linguistics to craft creative, engaging, and informative online courses designed for learners of Native American and other languages. Your strong writing skills, creative problem solving, educational insights, and commitment to quality will support our ongoing projects, including those in which we collaborate with clients to create customized programs that support their language learning, preservation, and revitalization goals.

This is a full-time remote position for candidates within the United States. #LI-REMOTE

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, visual designers, and media developers to create instructional content
  • Design, write, and edit clear and engaging interactive instructional content that models and practices accurate language usage
  • Ensure content meets internal curriculum and style guidelines, as well as appropriate educational standards
  • Develop and manage project plans to coordinate the work of subject matter experts, curriculum development, and media development teams 
  • Ensure project milestones are achieved within set deadlines
  • Use proprietary software tools to implement, review, and publish final content

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Second Language Acquisition, Linguistics, Education, or a related field
  • Five years' experience in instructional design or curriculum development for language acquisition
  • Experience learning or researching a Native American or endangered language
  • Excellent writing and editing abilities
  • Native-level fluency in English, plus proficiency in at least one other language
  • Experience facilitating intercultural communication and problem-solving
  • Ability to adapt quickly to evolving technology and conditions
  • Strong critical-thinking, research, and problem-solving skills 
  • Can-do attitude with openness to others’ ideas
  • Highly self-motivated and efficient with superb attention to detail
  • Ability to travel periodically for on-site work with clients
