Job Description Summary & Additional Information
Organization's Summary Statement: This position serves as the technical lead for operations, maintenance, and administration of the center's computing, networking, and telecommunications infrastructure; unclassified and classified. Works closely with the Enterprise Engineering team to ensure the appropriate life-cycle support of systems, from design to end-of-life, is maintained. This position also requires mentoring junior network engineers, running projects consistent with PMI PM standards and being able to write proposals and designs with diagrams. Functions as the subject matter expert for telecommunications and networking.
Provides direct support to research projects with infrastructure requirements and to other mission essential center functions as appropriate.
Ensures the reliability, integrity, and availability of systems and services.
Oversees and maintains fundamental infrastructure for services such as cabling, UPS, racks, etc.
Works with Facilities to ensure adequate power, cooling, and space availability for technical infrastructure.
Provides security support, administration, and monitoring for a broad range of infrastructure to meet security compliance requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: Seven (7) years of professional experience supporting the operations, maintenance, and administration of information technology infrastructure. Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education. Excellent written and oral communication skills with the capability of adapting communication style to different audiences Ability to independently prioritize and execute advanced support and feature requests in area of expertise Skilled in overseeing IT projects and associated team members with a primary focus is on the execution and delivery of technical initiatives Ability to to lead presentations and training with large groups Proven track records for quickly learning new technologies up and to the point of being a subject matter expert Able to organize and provide significant mentorship to project team members Skilled in solving problems of high complexity both independently and with other team members A demonstrated commitment to customer service and adept stakeholder management Provides leadership and helps bridge the gap between team manager and team members on technical topics Ability to effectively manage workload and delivery assignments on time Skilled in the use of office productivity software such as Office 365 or Google Workspaces Subject matter expert in at least two (2) technical areas
