Position Summary:
This role serves as a strategic and tactical partner in designing, delivering, and evaluating leadership development and enterprise learning programs across PetSmart’s Offices, Stores, and Distribution Centers. The Learning Experience Designer will support project-based training initiatives and enterprise-wide leadership development strategies that drive measurable business outcomes and foster a culture of continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership Development Strategy & Execution
- Partner with HRBPs and senior leaders to co-create and implement leadership development strategies aligned with business goals.
- Design and facilitate leadership programs, workshops, and events (virtual and in-person) for all levels of leadership.
- Coach leaders using tools such as 360 feedback and assessments.
- Support the enterprise-wide competency model and related tools in collaboration with Talent Management.
Learning Design & Delivery
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of learning solutions (eLearning, ILT, job aids, onboarding materials) using agile methodologies.
- Update and revise training content to reflect policy, product, or organizational changes.
- Ensure content is engaging, accurate, and aligned with adult learning principles.
Project & Program Management
- Manage multiple projects with overlapping timelines.
- Create implementation and change management plans to ensure adoption and sustainability.
- Monitor logistics, enrollment, and communications for training programs.
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
- Use analytics and feedback to evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
- Track learning impact on business performance and leadership effectiveness.
Collaboration & Influence
- Build strong partnerships with business leaders and subject matter experts.
- Facilitate “Train the Trainer” sessions and mentor internal facilitators.
- Influence stakeholders to adopt learning solutions and embrace change.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Organizational Development, Instructional Design, or related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in leadership development, adult learning design, or organizational effectiveness.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and consulting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, Articulate Storyline/Rise, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Ability to travel up to 25%, including overnight and international.
